Tim Allenâs fictional worlds collided when Kaitlyn Dever visited the set of Shifting Gears.
The ABCsitcomâs official Instagram account posted a video of the actress, 28, standing in the soundstage kitchen waiting for Allen, 72, to receive his cue to enter from the crew. When he realized Deverâwho played his character Mike Baxterâs daughter Eve on Last Man Standing for nine seasons from 2011 to 2021âwas there, Allen bent over in surprise and laughed before walking over to hug her.
Allenâs Shifting Gears co-star Kat Denningsâwho has portrayed his character Matt Parkerâs daughter, Riley, for two seasons since the showâs January premiereâthen ran up to give Dever a hug too.
The studio audience cheered for the unexpected reunion as Allen and Dever embraced several more times before she exited the stage.
