The Chicks are going on tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the group's Taking the Long Way album

The tour will stop at intimate theaters throughout the U.S. from September to November

Taking the Long Way featured the hit single "Not Ready to Make Nice" and won five Grammy Awards

The Chicks won't be making nice anytime soon.

On Wednesday, May 27, the country trio of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer announced an intimate run of U.S. shows billed as the Taking the Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour in honor of their Grammy-winning 2006 album of the same name.

"Still not ready to make nice," wrote the group on Instagram.

Kicking off Sept. 30 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, the tour will stop at theaters in cities including Chicago, New York City, Nashville, San Antonio, Seattle, San Francisco and more before wrapping Nov. 2 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Tickets first become available through an artist presale launching on Wednesday, June 3 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can sign up for the presale at The Chicks' website. The general on-sale begins on Thursday, June 4 at 10 a.m. local time.

The tour will celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Chicks' Taking the Long Way, released on May 23, 2006. The album featured the single "Not Ready to Make Nice," which became the group's highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 hit with a No. 4 peak.

At the 2007 Grammy Awards, The Chicks won Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Taking the Long Way as well as Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "Not Ready to Make Nice."

Taking the Long Way came after a wave of backlash surrounding Maines' brief comment at a March 2003 concert in London voicing her disapproval of the Iraq War and then-President George W. Bush. "Not Ready to Make Nice" responded to the controversy through its lyrics.

“Just so you know, we're on the good side with y'all,” she said at the time. “We do not want this war, this violence. And we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas.”

Earlier this month, Maines shared an Instagram post calling out President Donald Trump and the U.S. government. "Our democracy is disappearing right before our eyes," she began the caption. "This fugly slut is using your gas money to pay the insurrectionists. But don't worry about it. I'm sure posting selfies will fix everything."

She continued, "My last post that called him a fugly slut got removed. We'll see how long this one lasts. Repost and help the message live. Named 1M times in the #epsteinfiles #democracy #freespeech #fuglyslut."

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told PEOPLE in a statement, "Natalie Maines is a despicable nobody who clearly suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted her peanut-sized brain."
