Bullock recalled filming Parton’s cameo in the sequel, noting that the late country singer “was a bridge” for people. She also revealed that there was a cheeky line from Parton that didn’t make the final cut.

Although the “Jolene” artist plays a small role in the 2005 film, appearing as herself in a scene where Bullock’s character, FBI Special Agent Gracie Hart, tackles her, the 62-year-old said Parton’s presence on set was outsized.

“I’ve never been in the presence of a human being who no matter what room she walked in, it was like everyone took the same breath,” Bullock shared on *Live With Kelly and Mark* on Sept. 10. “There was not one person that didn’t love that human being. And she was the same way outwardly.”

While host Kelly Ripa quipped that Parton was the “best smelling” celebrity, Bullock remembered her for her humor.

“She was special,” Bullock said. “We had a moment with her on set. There’s a scene where I tackle her — I didn’t tackle the real Dolly —and then flip her over, and that’s the real Dolly. And I sort of sit on her to prove that it’s not Dolly, and I was poking the boobs to go, ‘See it’s not the real Dolly.’”

During the scene, in which Gracie believes Parton is actually an impersonator, the “I Will Always Love You” singer screams out, “What is the matter with you?” after getting taken down. However, Bullock revealed that she originally said something more crass.

“Her ad-lib line, and you probably have to cut this, she goes, ‘Get off me you f---ing pervert!’” Bullock recalled with a laugh. “It just came out, and it was beautiful. But we were like, ‘We can’t use that.’”

Parton died on Aug. 25 at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer. In the wake of her death, Bullock recalled sleeping side-by-side with Parton during the filming of *Miss Congeniality 2*.

“She’s here. She sprinkles everywhere,” Bullock told PEOPLE of Parton in an interview published Aug. 26. “She’s not going anywhere.”
