Paris St-Germain value Bradley Barcola at £145m, which would make him the most expensive Premier League signing of all-time if he joins an English club this summer.

Liverpool have been at the forefront of the interest in Barcola, having been linked with him 12 months ago. A £70m move was mooted then, but the Anfield club did not want to sign anyone to block the progress of emerging talent Rio Ngumoha.

Any future deal for the France international would obliterate the previous high watermark for a British signing, which is currently the £125m Liverpool paid to Newcastle 12 months ago for Alexander Isak.

Liverpool have continued to follow Barcola, as have Arsenal and Chelsea. Quite whether they will be prepared to do business for Barcola at a fee of more than double what was quoted 12 months ago, however, remains to be seen.

There is recognition that Barcola will have to move from the back-to-back Champions League winners. He rarely starts the biggest games for coach Luis Enrique, whose preferred front three is Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

PSG are also looking to strengthen their wide areas and have been following Yan Diomande, the RB Leipzig winger, along with Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche. Real Madrid, though, appear favourites for Diomande in what could have ramifications for Arsenal’s pursuit of Vinícius Júnior.

Whether there will be a market for Barcola at £145m, though, is unclear. PSG are adamant, in light of some of the recent deals that have been completed in the Premier League, that their valuation is realistic.

Morgan Rogers joined Chelsea from Aston Villa for £117m this week, shortly after Elliot Anderson completed his £116m switch from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City. Barcola, who scored six times and provided six assists in Ligue 1 last season, is under contract until June 2028.
