Odessa A'zion clearly wants to keep certain things private when it comes to her family life
The Marty Supreme actress was asked by The Hollywood Reporter if her mother Pamela Adlon's career inspired her to become an actress
āItās really hard to talk about without getting into personal specifics...," she offered in response
Odessa A'zion would rather not discuss certain details of her family life.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Marty Supreme actress, 25, was questioned about her mother, Pamela Adlon, 59, and her show Better Things, which ran from 2019 to 2022.
The critically acclaimed show followed Adlon's character, Sam Fox, who was a divorced actress raising three children by herself, and it's long been thought of as an autobiographical series.
A'zion, who was 16 years old when Better Things premiered on FX, was asked about the comedy-drama during her interview with THR, and said, āPeople will assume things based off of watching the show." THR reported that A'zion answered the question while reading a note that she'd saved on her phone.
āAnd all I can say is itās very much from one personās perspective of possible shared experiences,ā the actress added to THR.

A'zion remained guarded when questioned about whether her mother's career inspired her to become an actress. āItās really hard to talk about without getting into personal specifics that I probably shouldnāt let the world know about,ā she told THR.
She then said, when asked whether her mom tried to talk her out of acting, āAgain, thatās really hard to answer,ā declining to talk about the mother and daughter's current relationship.
A'zion ā who started using a stage name inspired by her middle name, Zion, in 2021, per THR ā has two sisters; Gideon, 28, and Valentine "Rocky", 22. Adlon shares her three daughters with her ex-husband, Felix O. Adlon, whom she divorced in 2010 after they tied the knot in 1996.

Adlon previously said her decision to base Better Things on her own life was a "lightning-bolt" moment.
She told NPR Fresh Air's Terry Gross back in 2016 of involving her daughters while creating the series, "At first I was being very protective of them in terms of what I was doing and the material. I was guarding the project and I was guarding my actual children so that my kids didn't feel like they were being co-opted or that anything was besting them, you know?"

"Eventually they started getting involved and they helped me cast the girls, and they put their votes in, and I would run material by them that was appropriate, and they're very much a part of it. The show is completely dedicated to them and all that they do, and the show really gives them a voice," she continued to tell the publication.
