A Las Vegas man has taken back his previously held Guinness World Record for the most Michelin-starred restaurants visited in 24 hours

Joshua Fyksen ate at 28 Michelin-starred restaurants in New York City on May 9 and 10 of 2025, reclaiming his record after it was overtaken in 2024

Fkysen says he was inspired to reclaim the record because he “tends to be a bit competitive,”

A Las Vegas man is taking back his record for the most Michelin-starred restaurants visited in 24 hours.

Foodie Joshua Fyksen visited a total of 28 Michelin star restaurants in New York City between May 9 and 10 of of 2025, breaking the Guinness World Record for most Michelin-starred restaurants visited in 24 hours and overtaking the previous record of 25 set by Sujoy Kumar Mitra and Rajnish Kumar Tripathi in Hong Kong, China in 2024.

Fyksen previously broke the record in 2023 when he visited 22 Michelin star restaurants in New York City. After his record was broken, he couldn't let that stand for too long, telling Guinness World Records he “tends to be a bit competitive,” and wanted the title back.

Fyksen reviewed the entire Michelin Guide to prepare for the task, checking each restaurant’s website and menus, and looking for anywhere he could get a seat.

“For example, three-starred Eleven Madison Park only offers a tasting menu that takes hours – but if you look closely, their small bar offers a few small bites,” said Fkysen. “The bar doesn’t take reservations, though, so I’d have to chance a walk-in.”

He considered attempting the feat in London, Paris, or Hong Kong but ultimately decided to return to New York City due to his familiarity with the location.

“I emailed several restaurants that don’t offer à la carte and asked for exceptions,” said Fyksen, who works as the Sommelier at Peter Luger Steakhouse at Caesar' s Palace in Las Vegas.

Fyksen says his favorite dish came from Le Pavillon in Midtown, where he ate a Jonah crab salad with apple and wasabi.

The ambitious food lover hit a snag when he got caught in a torrential downpour just before arriving to Eleven Madison Park in the Flatiron district.

“I must’ve looked like a drowned rat because the host briefly questioned whether I was in the right place,” said Fkysen. “I was – and they were lovely. They even offered me a welcome cocktail. I took it, hoping to take the edge off the stress I’d accumulated by that point.”

He completed his record at Gramercy Tavern in Gramercy Park, where he celebrated his accomplishment by eating an oyster and ordering champagne.

The impressive day of meals cost him a total of $1,451.34. “The food alone cost $976.97, plus tips. Transportation between restaurants was another $474.37,” Fyksen said.
