Lola Young is ready for her comeback after taking a much-needed break from the spotlight.

Six months after collapsing on stage during her performance at the All Things Go music festival, the "Messy" singer is back with a positive life update. During a Saturday profile with *The Times of London*, Young offered a peek at her recovery process in the wake of the 2025 health scare.

"I think I would rather, for the sake of my privacy, not say too much," the 25-year-old singer began. "What I would say is that recovery is an ongoing process. I’m not the finished article, but I’m doing a hell of a lot better."

When asked to elaborate, Young confirmed that she is now in "drugs recovery," clarifying, "When you’re in recovery … that doesn’t necessarily need to mean drugs — but me specifically, yes."

Back in September, Young was in the middle of performing her 2024 track "Conceited" at the festival held in New York's Forest Hills Stadium when she suffered an unspecified medical emergency. In video footage captured by fans, the singer-songwriter (then 24) seemed to mouth the word "faint" before falling backwards, prompting members of her band to leap up and help her. She remained on the ground for a few moments before medical personnel arrived to carry her off stage.

Afterwards, Young's label mate and fellow artist, Remi Wolf, stepped out on stage to address the situation.

"That was really f---ing scary," Wolf told the audience, adding, "My friend Lola is backstage, and she is okay."

Young issued a statement on her Instagram Story later that evening, confirming to fans that she was "doing okay now" after the incident. However, three days later, the British singer announced in a subsequent Instagram post that she would be cancelling all of her future performances and going "away for a while." She added, “I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.”

Young reconnected with her fans again in December, thanking them for giving her the "time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place."

Speaking with *The Times*, Young confirmed that she has been to rehab twice and even recorded her album *I’m Only F**king Myself *in 2024 after completing a five-week stay at a treatment facility.

"What I can tell you is that I was being looked after," she said while addressing her current well-being. "I am now in a position where I can do things I couldn’t have done before. Doing it slower, more intentionally, but doing it in a way I feel is good for me."

Confirming that she now regularly attends Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings, Young added, "I would like to say that this is an ongoing journey. You have to be kind to yourself. You have to always remember that you are not alone. You are not ever, ever alone."

2026 has already marked a big year for Young, who won her first Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance in February. Prior to the awards show, she returned to the stage at Spotify's Best New Artist Party in Los Angeles for her first major performance since the incident.

"I haven't performed since September, so this is a very, very special moment for me," Young told the audience, per USA Today. “Thank you to everyone who makes performing feel like this."

Days later, her triumphant return continued with a performance at the Grammys, followed by her win.
