Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) reluctantly faced the nation ― or at least TMZ ― while still feeling the effects of a recent Botox treatment.
“I don’t wanna be on camera this week and I’ve been on camera more than any other week,” she told the celebrity website recently.

“I’m talking out of the side of my mouth like a **** politician cause my Botox hasn’t caught up on this side,” she continued, pointing to the left side of her mouth. “Maybe in two days this side will catch up to the other side. But here we are.”
The right-wing congresswoman explained to TMZ that she was forced to talk because she was angry over being left out of an eventually passed House vote that approved $1.1 trillion for the National Defense Authorization Act.
She suggested she would have voted no because it still included a controversial defense technology exchange with Israel. She was told the vote would stay “open” while she waited for a phone call from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about the Israel provision but “they closed the vote,” she said.

“So now I’m forced to talk to TMZ while I do have an issue that we talked about off-record,” she said.
That’s when Boebert launched into her Botox explanation.

“Cosmetic dermatology is on the rise in Washington, D.C., at a time when officials face increasing scrutiny for their age and appearance,” a Wall Street Journal headline said in 2024.
At the time the article said it was “unheard of” for a politician to admit using Botox.
“These are considered luxury treatments that not everyone can afford, and they are appealing to voters of all socioeconomic status,” D.C.-area dermatologist Dr. Terrence Keaney told the newspaper. “I think that’s partly why there are politicians who are probably reluctant to admit to doing this.”
