Stewart McLean's final text has been revealed amid a homicide investigation into his death.

The Virgin River actor sent a text to his agent on May 15, the last day he was seen alive, notifying him that he'd attend a film shoot the next day.

After being reported missing, McLean's remains were discovered by Canada's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team on May 22.

Late Virgin River actor Stewart McLean's final text has been revealed amid an ongoing homicide investigation into his unexpected death.

Jeff Seymour, an acting coach and close friend of McLean, told The Daily Mail that the last time the actor used his phone was on the evening of May 15 to send his agent a message about an upcoming shoot. That day was also the last time that McLean was seen alive.

“He had a very normal day from what I understood,” Seymour told the outlet. “He had a four-hour drive home and he left at around seven. He arrived home that night, [his] car [was] in the driveway. The last communication came from his phone that evening, and then everything just went dark.”

The acting coach explained that he learned of McLean’s final message when his agent reached out to ask if he knew of the actor’s whereabouts after he failed to turn up for a scheduled day of filming on May 16.

“He had confirmed he would be there the next day [on] Friday when he was last heard from,” Seymour said. “When I heard that he didn't show up for that, I knew we were in serious trouble. Because, show business, you know, the show must go on, it is unheard of for an actor not to show up.”

McLean was reported missing on May 18, three days after he was last seen at his home in Lions Bay, British Columbia. At the time, the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police stated that they were “very concerned for Stewart's health and well-being” before later announcing that his case had transitioned into a homicide investigation on May 21.

One day later, Canada’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced that McLean’s remains had been located in Lions Bay, per PEOPLE. He was 45.

Speaking with The Daily Mail, Seymour noted that he is heartbroken over McLean’s death and hopes that authorities apprehend the culprit.

"This is, I think, the worst scenario — where someone is so arrogant that they think that it's within their right to just end another person's existence on this earth. I find that so reprehensibly arrogant," he said. "You just decide that that's it for this fella. It's amazing when you're faced with it, how incredibly offensive that is."

He continued, "We live in a society where laws are important and, you know, that the people that do these types of things can't go unpunished. Of course, I want this person found, and this person put away, because this person has compromised their right to walk around among us. From what I know, there's nothing that Stew has been doing in his recent life that even would remotely make somebody angry, and I feel I know him pretty well. He's a good guy, so I think this is more um, a troubled person who did this, a desperate person.”

Seymour went on to describe McLean as an honest man who hoped to be a "good influence" on others in a heartfelt tribute.

“I’ve never seen [him] be vindictive. He was so honest,” he said in part. “His self-reflection was so astute when he would tell me about things that he's done in the past. His self-assessment was always so keen, you know, that's what I respected — his honesty.'

McLean was last seen on screen as a barfly in a season 7 episode of Netflix's Virgin River. His other credits include episodes of several CW shows, including Arrow, Supernatural, and The 100.
