Kate Middleton's former assistant is stepping into a new chapter after leaving her palace role

Natasha Archer, who worked for the Prince and Princess of Wales from 2010 to 2025, opened up in a new interview

She launched her own consulting company, which she describes as “a highly personalized service for individuals leading really complex lives"

Kate Middleton's former assistant is revealing all that went into her palace role.

In July 2025, PEOPLE exclusively revealed that Natasha Archer was departing her role at Kensington Palace after 15 years of dedicated service. Over the course of her time working with the now-Princess of Wales, Archer was credited as the brains behind some of her most notable looks, from the blue silk Jenny Packham dress that Kate, 44, wore to introduce Prince George to the world in July 2013 to the Maheen Khan pieces Kate wore on a state visit to Pakistan in 2019.

However, a lot more went into the job than picking clothes, from keeping schedules to being a confidante of the royal.

"I often get referred to as a stylist, and it’s quite frustrating,” she said in a new interview with The Telegraph. “There are a lot of other things that came with my role...I’m not a traditional stylist; I’m looking at everything. Even admin support. I feel like it’s a unique talent that I can bring to specific people."

As Archer embarks on her next chapter, opening her own consulting brand, she's bringing the experience from her royal role to new clients.

“I just love supporting people,” Archer, 37, said. “There are so many levels of support – yes, admin, but also just being there sometimes, being that calmness to someone.”

Archer got her start working for the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester in 2007 before moving on to work for Prince William and Prince Harry at Clarence House. When William proposed in November 2010, making Kate an official part of the royal family, Archer transitioned to working for the couple exclusively.

In February, she officially launched her namesake luxury consulting brand, which she describes as offering “a highly personalized service for individuals leading really complex lives."

“I might have somebody who comes to me for help for a small family wedding, or it might be somebody saying, ‘I’m going skiing, I’ve never been,’ ” she explained to the Telegraph. “Other people are, say, a businesswoman delivering a big speech, and they are so confident, yet they are not confident with their clothes.”

While Archer is tight-lipped about her time working for Prince William and Princess Kate, she did say working for the couple was "an extraordinary privilege, and I hold it so close to my heart. I’ve made incredible friendships there, and I look back on my memories totally fondly, and I just feel really grateful to have had that opportunity," she said.

“I learnt so much from the people I was working for. It’s planning, it’s being ready, it’s offering an unwavering level of support to who you are working with," she added. "And my work has definitely evolved now, but my standards remain the same.”

Upon Archer's departure from the royal household, PEOPLE understood that the Prince and Princess of Wales wished Archer the very best for the exciting opportunities ahead. Though her absence has been no doubt notable, multiple sources said that Princess Kate had no plans to hire a stylist.

“Kate has always been very involved in choosing her outfits for royal engagements, but now she is so confident, she knows exactly what suits her and what doesn’t,” a source told PEOPLE.
