Jane the Virgin star Brett Dier is engaged to actress and photographer Conor Leslie
The couple announced the news in separate posts on Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 29
The pair have been romantically linked since late 2024
Brett Dier has popped the question!
The Jane the Virgin star, 35, proposed to actress and photographer Conor Leslie, and announced the news via Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 29, by sharing two engagement photos.
"I GET TO MARRY MY BESTFRIEND IN THE UNIVERSE!!!! 👽👽," Dier wrote in the caption.
Leslie commented, "I’m pretty darn lucky 🥲♥️👽."

The actor shared two engagement photos, the first being a black-and-white selfie of his fiancée kissing him on the cheek and she rested her left hand gently on his chest. The couple matched in sherpa jackets and stood near a serene body of water in nature. In the second photo, Leslie gave fans a closer look at her new bling as she flashed her engagement ring.
In her own Instagram post sharing the same photos, the bride-to-be wrote, "Gonna marry my best friend 👽♥️."
Dier commented, "I can’t wait ❤️❤️❤️❤️."
Dier and Leslie have been romantically linked since late 2024.
Dier first made his appearance on Leslie's Instagram page in December 2024 when Leslie shared a black-and-white film photo of him in the woods from October 2024. On Valentine's Day in 2025, Leslie gushed on Instagram that her now-fiancé is her "favorite person in the universe," and called him her "fella" in another post two months later.
Meanwhile, Leslie subtly debuted on Dier's Instagram page in November 2024 when he shared photos taken by her and credited her in the caption next to heart emojis. In April 2025, he gushed in another post that she was his "lady and bestest friend in the world."
The pair star in the upcoming romantic comedy film In Spite of Ourselves.

Dier was previously engaged to actress Haley Lu Richardson, who proposed after about seven years of dating. Richardson announced in an Instagram Story in November 2022 that they split in 2020.
"Hey guys. This is me and Brett. We actually separated two years ago," Richardson wrote over a photo of herself and Dier giving a thumbs up. "But life goes on and we are both existing and doing pretty well turns out. We shared a deeply special chunk of our lives together. I'm so glad to have had the last couple years to heal and grow without the internet knowing but we kinda just wanted to share it and move on now."
She ended the post with a piece of inspiration for her followers: "Love yourselves! Life is life babies!"
