Donald Trump's young blonde assistant 'retired to the shadows' after shock claims

Donald Trump's assistant Natalie Harp appears to have "retired a little to the shadows" following some shocking claims about their working relationship, according to a body language expert.

Harp, who works as the president's executive assistant, was seen walking behind her boss as he inspected the ongoing renovations to the North Portico of the White House. The pair were also joined by other aides as they surveyed the construction work after returning from a day out at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, on Sunday, July 26.

Harp wore a blue top and black miniskirt, completing her look with a baseball cap. She was seen juggling several binders as she spoke with other assistants, though she seemed to hang back from the president.

Body language expert Judi James suggested Harp might have been trying to take a step back from the spotlight surrounding Trump after their professional relationship was questioned. The expert told The Mirror US, "Unswerving loyalty and dedication should be good qualities in an aide but not when they are so visibly displayed that they turn the spotlight away from the boss and onto a perma-smile and fan-like gaze."

James continued, "Natalie has been the subject of comments and it looks here as though she's retired a little to shadows behind Trump as a result." Despite Harp taking a step back, the expert suggested President Trump still basked in the spotlight.

She told us, "The watchful gaze is still here as Trump enjoys being central to attention during his game of golf, but there is also a moment when Natalie appears to relax enough to chat to some other people, too.

"The 'perfect' response smile is not visible here and Natalie is clutching a very large folder to her torso in what looks like a body barrier response to maybe make herself a little less visible."

Harp's latest outing with Trump comes after reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan examined the pair's relationship in their book Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump.

According to Regime Change, Harp often leaves personal messages for the president in private places for him to find. In one note, she reportedly wrote, "You are all that matters to me."

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles was allegedly left stunned by the letters. According to the authors, her reaction was simply, "Where am I?" Trump is said to have responded with his own declaration of loyalty, reportedly telling others Harp, unlike his other aides, "will never leave me."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt hit back at the claims as she wrote to The Mirror US, "Natalie Harp is one of the most loyal and hardest working aides on President Trump's team."
