Claudia Oshry made The Masked Singer history this week when she became one of only a handful of contestants to withdraw from the competition.

On the other side of her Queen Corgi mask, which Oshry shed on Wednesday, Jan. 28, The Toast podcast host tells PEOPLE she's feeling a "huge" sense of relief. "I feel amazing. I am not a good secret keeper, especially when the secret is me being on TV," Oshry, 31, says.

The content creator announced her bombshell move to voluntarily unmask at the end of the episode. She bid adieu to her fellow competitors, host Nick Cannon and panelists Ken Jeong, Rita Ora and Robin Thicke, telling them all, "I’ve learned so much about myself, but my time is up."

Oshry had to keep her participation on the show under lock-and-key, but she was able to discuss her exit with her loved ones prior to making the decision. She and her husband, Ben Soffer, 33, welcomed their first child together, Reuben, on May 21, 2025, and the new mom says she ultimately came to the conclusion that she needed to follow her instincts and spend precious postpartum time at home.

"My baby was 4 months old at the time, and you don't get that time back, especially with your first, so I'm really glad. I have not regretted the decision once since I made it," she tells PEOPLE. "Everyone was really supportive, which I'm very grateful for."

That's not to say Oshry didn't struggle to pull the trigger and end her stint on the reality show. Her leave was made all the more complicated considering the fact that she genuinely appreciated the chance to sing on the stage. She notes that series allowed her to "live out this dream of mine to be a pop star."

Crucially, however, Oshry hesitated most at the thought of breaking her promise to see The Masked Singer season 14, which airs Wednesdays on Fox, all the way through. "Is there a way that I could end it now while prioritizing my postpartum self, while also honoring the commitment that I made?" she remembers wondering while reflecting on her future in the competition.

"I was raised by Kris Jenner. I'm not someone who just flakes on commitments. I said I was going to do something and I was prepared to see it through," she admits, adding, "I'm really grateful that everyone at Fox was open to some sort of alternative ending for me."

Her experience and exit from the show speaker to the broader novelty of this chapter of her life. Now that she's a mom, Oshry is watching her boundaries and priorities evolve in a new direction.

"I've always been a very ambitious, career-driven person, and it was like whatever we can do for the career to further the career, and now I just really don't feel that way," she says. "I would like to work to live instead of live to work."
